Blue Bird Taxi Firm Cuts Rates

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s biggest taxi operator Blue Bird announced that starting 16 April 2015, it will cut its flag fall rate and per kilo meter rate.
"PT Blue Bird has cut the fare by around 15 percent,” said Head of the Jakarta Organization of Land Transportation Owners (Organda) Shafruhan Sinungan in Jakarta on Saturday.
Shafruhan added that the new rate applies for regular taxis in Greater Jakarta.
According to him, the flag fall rate has been cut from Rp7,500 into Rp6,500, while the per kilo meter rate has been cut from Rp4,000 per kilometers into Rp3,500 per kilometers, while waiting rates has been reduced from Rp48,000 per hour into Rp42,000 per hour.
Shafruhan added that decision to cut the rates came after the cut of fuel prices.
"The new rates are forms of protection of consumers,” Shafruhan said.
Previously, the government announced new prices of subsidized Premium fuel and solar starting 1 April 2016. The price of BBM premium Rp6,950 per liter into Rp6,450 per liter and solar from Rp5,650 into Rp5,150.
