TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hundreds of echelon-III and -IV officials who were inaugurated on Monday morning yesterday had to undergo a urine test in the City Hall's yard.
It was aimed to know whether those officials were indicated using drugs or not. After the inauguration, Head of Prevention Division for Jakarta Narcotics National Agency (BNN), Sapari Partodiharjo directly announced the test result. Suddenly, the officials who have been disbanded and taken pictures with their family back to gather in front of the stage.
The Jakarta BNN officiers then hand out the forms filled before the test. The echelon-III officials got the first turn to undergo the test before the echelon-IV officials.
According to Agus Suradika, Head of Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD), the BNN was involved because he wanted to ensure whether those selected civil servants are healthy or not. "It shows that all officials are healthy," he disclosed.
He reminded all officials not to leave. If they leave, they will be searched as they are already on the absence. "If they leave, we will pursue them. We have their list from BNN," he reminded.
They further explained that the officials will be demoted if they are proven using drugs, considering that they should be a role model for citizens.
The test result will come out within 3-4 days ahead. "If they are positively using drugs, they will be demoted," he asserted.
Such sudden urine test had also been done in the previous inauguration towards thousands of officials on January 2, 2015. From the test, 13 officials were indicated using morphine.
