TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama planned to issue the Jakarta One card in 2017 before his term as Jakarta governor ends on October 2017. Ahok had also requested Bank Indonesia (BI) to expedite the process.
"The card will be issued before [October 2017] if possible," said Ahok on Monday, January 11, 2016.
The Jakarta One Card is an individual card that can be used as an electronic identification card (e-KTP), and can be used as a debit card to pay for buses, flat rent, electronic road pricing (ERP) and social healthcare insurance.
Ahok added that the card could be tested and implemented this year. "I want it [to be completed] faster," Ahok said.
The card is aimed at providing easy access for Jakarta citizens to government services. Bank DKI and several working units also participated in the card issuance.
