TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok has taken the results of a poll conducted by leading national media outlet Kompas lightly. The poll puts him second in electability rate. Ahok and his running mate Djarot Saiful Hidayat sits behind Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni pairing.

Agus-Sylviana has 37.1 percent electability rate. Meanwhile, Ahok-Djarot’s electability was 33 percent. The third candidate Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno gets a modest 19.5 percent. Some 10.4 percent of respondents in the poll could yet make up their mind.

“We just have to work hard. I don’t know how to overtake [my competitors], in Christian [teachings] we are not allowed to make overtaking maneuvers. We don’t want to overtake [Agus], just want to leapfrog [him],” Ahok said jokingly Wednesdayin Cilandak Barat, South Jakarta.

The poll also indicates that prospective voters of Ahok-Djarot pairing are more loyal compared to that of their competitors. Meaning that most of the voters have already made up their minds and will not change them on election day. At least 61.7 percent of Ahok-Djarot’s prospective voters are deemed loyal. “We’ll see on [February] 15,” Ahok said.

Meanwhile, 55.9 percent of Agus-Sylvi’s prospective voters are deemed loyal. Anies-Sandi has 54.5 loyal voters. On the contrary, Agus-Sandi has the highest percentage of prospective voters who may change their mind at 26.3 percent, followed by Agus-Sylvi with 21.9 percent and Ahok-Djarot with 16.7 percent.
