TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -Jakarta administration has confirmed that the program of incoming governor Anies Baswedan may be included in the revised 2017 regional budget. Jakarta regional secretary Saefullah said that the decision was deliberated at a meeting between the administration dan Anies’ Synchronization Team on Saturday. The meeting will resume today and be concluded on Wednesday. "We have discussed it, some programs may be included," Saefullah said yesterday.
The Synchronization Team was formed by Anies to help prepare for a work plan for when he takes office in October. The Governor-elect has appointed former energy and mineral resources minister Sudirman Said as team leader. The members include former state apparatus and bureaucratic reform minister Eko Prasojo, Jakarta regional secretary for the 2010-2013 term Fadjar Panjaitan and city planning expert Marco Kusumawijaya.
Saefullah stressed that only non-physical construction programs will be listed in the revised 2017 regional budget. He reasoned that the implementation period would be too short considering that Anies will take office in in October. The period for construction project auction, such as road construction, will take 45 days. The auction may take longer if objection period of one week is held on numerous occasions.
Anies programs and campaign promises, Saefullah said, may only be included entirely in 2018 regional budget. He explained that the Home Affairs Minister Regulation Number 32/2017 on Regional Government Work Plan for 2018 holds that vision and missions of governor-deputy governor may only be implemented in the first year of tenure. The One Kecamatan One Center for Entrepreneurship (OK-OCE) program is one of Anies’ programs.
