TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) predicts the number of passengers to increase by 9.6 percent on Eid al Adha Day (Idul Adha) on Friday, September 1.
"The amount is a comparison between normal day and long weekend," said Dewandono Prasetyo Nugroho, Angkasa Pura II Brand Communication Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Wednesday, August 30.
Prasetyo said the increase in the number of passengers, who wish to go on vacation on Idul Adha Day, will occur from Thursday, August 31 until Sunday, September 3. "The movement of passengers is relatively high."
The highest passenger surge will occur on Sunday, September 3. Passengers are expected to increase up to 14.7%. The upward trend in aircraft movements is about 4.7%.
Angkasa Pura II has been preparing to anticipate the spike. "We encourage passengers to arrive early," Prasetyo said.
Although there is a significant surge of passengers, there has been no additional flight demand for Idul Adha holidays.
