TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Jakarta Governor Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said that he would no longer answer questions about Jakarta. The president-elect said issues related to the capital were now in the hands of Deputy Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama.
"I handed things to Ahok since September 20. I will not be involved in strategic matters of Jakarta. Ask Ahok, please," said Jokowi. The elected president also balked at commenting matters concerning slaughter houses in Jakarta.
Jokowi said Ahok had had clear understanding on Jakarta. "He has understood the problems. It is a matter of timing," he said.
Earlier, Ahok planned on issuing a regulation barring the operations of illegal slaughter houses in the capital following the outbreaks of avian influenza and the ebola virus. The regulation is slated to take effect next year.
